Netflix confirms 2 major characters will return in ‘Happy Gilmore 2′

Happy Gilmore not only returning, but Shooter McGavin and Bob Barker will also make special appearances.

The long-awaited, and unexpected, sequel to the iconic 1996 golf-sports movie “Happy Gilmore” has finally been confirmed and, according to Netflix, will feature not only its main character, but two other major fan favorites as well.

“Happy Gilmore 2” will reunite Adam Sandler and Christopher McDonald

Happy Gilmore himself, Adam Sandler, has agreed to reprise his role as the titular character. Sandler will also co-write the script and produce the film, as he did with the original. Christopher McDonald will also return as Shooter McGavin, Happy’s rival on the golf course.

Netflix is still searching for an actor to play Gilmore’s now-adult son. Casting directors hope to find a talented up-and-comer who can match Sandler’s comedic chops.

The film is expected to begin production in early 2024 and is scheduled for a release on Netflix in 2025. Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Happy Gilmore and his hilarious antics on the golf course.

Bob Barker will also make a special appearance
