"A Little Life" was a particularly challenging role for Thompson, both physically and emotionally. The play follows the story of four friends whose lives are deeply intertwined and tested by trauma. Thompson found the experience of performing in such a demanding production to be both rewarding and transformative.
Thompson also weighed in on the enduring appeal of romance stories, which he believes tap into our fundamental human need for connection and belonging. He explained that whether it's a grand historical romance or a contemporary love story, these stories resonate with us because they remind us that we are not alone in our desire for love and intimacy.
