Barcelona Held to 3-3 Draw by Granada in La Liga
Blaugrana Drop Points in Title Race
Despite a spirited fightback, Barcelona were held to a frustrating 3-3 draw by Granada in La Liga on Saturday.
The result leaves the Catalan giants four points behind leaders Real Madrid, who have a game in hand. It was a disappointing night for Barcelona, who had been hoping to make up ground on their rivals and close the gap at the top of the table.
Granada, who are battling against relegation, took a shock lead after just 10 minutes when Jorge Molina latched onto a through ball and fired past Marc-André ter Stegen. Barcelona responded well and levelled through Pedri just five minutes later, but Granada regained the lead again through Luis Suarez in the 29th minute.
Barcelona were back on level terms just before half-time when Raphinha scored a stunning goal from outside the box. The second half was a more even affair, but Granada took the lead for the third time in the 75th minute when Aitor Karanka's side were awarded a penalty after a handball by Ronald Araujo. Molina converted the spot-kick to give Granada a 3-2 lead.
Barcelona pushed for an equaliser and were rewarded in the 87th minute when substitute Ferran Torres scored from close range. It was a dramatic end to the game, but Barcelona were unable to find a winner and had to settle for a point.
